The adaptor simply did not fit in the Swiss outlets. It has rounded sides, but the Swiss outlets require diamond-shaped sides.
I would go for a more universal adapter - one that can be used everywhere or as many places as possible. It has three converters - I gave two to my host I was staying with as a gift, so that she would have them the next time she hosts a US guest.
I've bought these for a recent travel to Switzerland. They are great products and worked without problems, but the plastic around the plugs does not fit perfectly in those perfectly designed wall outlet (hexagonal hole). Most of the times, these take too much space in the wall outlet and you can't plug anything else.
Bought these to have extra for a trip - definitely preferred the adapter with USB ports, but these were handy for the laptop and bathroom items - dryer, straightener.
Worked without a problem during travel to Switzerland. Fit the hotel plugs well. I used with my laptop.
